Behind The Gloves will organize the Midnight Mayhem Fight Night on 19 January 2027 at the ICE Barcelona exhibition. The charity boxing event involves 16 participants from the iGaming and sports betting sectors.
The participants will compete in the ring following a five-month training program supervised by professional coaches. Organizers will pair fighters with opponents of similar experience levels, and all matches will take place under medical supervision. Most of the competitors are boxing for the first time.
Charity Goals and Financial Distribution
The event is affiliated with WBC Cares UK and has established a fundraising target of €150,000. Proceeds will be distributed to charitable organizations nominated by the fighters and event partners, with allocations overseen by an independent Charity Advisory Board. Behind The Gloves will retain 20% of the profits to fund future wellbeing initiatives and leadership programs within the gaming industry.
The program includes a demonstration by the WBC Adaptive Boxing Programme. This segment highlights wheelchair-based boxing training designed for individuals with disabilities and additional needs.
Lee McFarland, founder of Behind The Gloves, stated: "Sixteen people from across our industry have said yes publicly, to a date that won’t move. Most have never laced a glove before. On 19 January, in front of the industry they work in, they’ll show what five months of commitment can do." He added: "But the number I care about most is €150,000 – what we’re setting out to raise together for the causes our fighters and partners carry into that ring."
The fight night is part of the official ICE Barcelona exhibition programme, organized in collaboration with ICE and WorldGaming.
